Who?
Working with me as a team or on an individual basis, you will benefit both from my broad business expertise from more than 100 projects with industrial players, public sector institutions and associations and from my deep experience in developmental and transformational coaching.
In 12 years of top management consulting as a consultant and partner with McKinsey & Company, Inc., I have led over 100 projects with companies in various industrial sectors, ranging from utilities and municipalities to equipment makers, various players in heavy industries, private equity firms, as well as public sector institutions and industry associations. I covered strategic topics, in particular with regard to future development of global market dynamics and implications of climate change and sustainability, as well as organizational topics, e.g., reorganization of board responsibilities, setup and (re-) design of new business units, acquisitions, mergers and demergers of (parts of) companies, as well as large-scale performance transformations for business and support functions.
For more than two decades, I have worked as a personal coach and mentor with individuals and with teams. I have led and developed teams and individuals in large academic settings, in my role as a McKinsey consultant and partner, and with my clients, ranging from 1:1 coaching situations (e.g., in career transitions for top executives and CEOs) to small executive team development work (e.g., in situations of re-definition of strategies, organizational setup or team recomposition) to larger scale work with cross-organizational teams (e.g., on complex industry studies around climate change and sustainability). In 2012, I was selected for the 2012/13 class of the Coach Certification Program led by Robert Kegan & Lisa Lahey (mindsatwork)
My work and my thinking are founded in my academic education in social sciences, including a PhD and a postdoctorate degree ("Habilitation"). My academic studies covered topics ranging from the theory and implementation of international peace cooperations (M.A. Thesis), to the workings (and shortcomings) of political and diplomatic relationships in Early Modern Europe (PhD Thesis), to the success factors of change management in revolutionary times (Habilitation Thesis). Over the years, I have written and (co-) edited nine books and published more than a dozen articles in academic journals and compilations.
